Huawei operates in more than 170 countries, servicing more than one third of the world’s population as the global leading provider of Communication and Information Technology (ICT). In Spain we employ more than 1,000 professionals, 90% of them locally, working in wireless, fixed network and core network solutions, technology for data networks, Cloud Computing and IP, and consumer products such as smartphones and tablets.
Huawei Spain strongly believes in the importance of Science and Innovation for developing the products and services of the future, and undertakes a firm commitment to education in the scope of new technologies, aimed at promoting the talent and employability of the Spanish youth by creating real job opportunities in this area.
Huawei and the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Society signed in 2015, in the Shenzhen (China) a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that endorses this commitment to education and training on new technologies. In this sense, Huawei has confirmed its intention to continue promoting initiatives and programs oriented to transmit its expertise in the CIT sector in both Spanish universities and their work centers in China, as well as to stimulate the labor market by creating job opportunities.
With the firm intention of contributing to Education in the field of New Technologies, Huawei Spain started in 2014 the project called Leading the new Digital Era: 5G, in collaboration with Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), in order to train highly qualified university students on state-of-the art technologies and promote the deployment of last generation networks throughout the entire Spanish territory.
